Barbara Jean Booth

Barbara J. Booth was born on July 11, 1940 in Fort Valley, Georgia to the parents of the Late June Booth and Velma Hatcher Booth.

She attended Fort Valley School and at an early age, she moved to Tennessee with her aunt and finished high school. She later moved to Connecticut, and she began as a cook at IHOP. In later years, she opened a in-house childcare nursery. In 1972, Barbara returned to Georgia and began her cooking at Blue Bird, SS. Later, she worked at Sharks until she retired because of health reasons. For many years, she did weddings, catering postal service parties until her health failed.

Barbara was the cook of the family. Her hobbies were listening to music, crossword puzzles, watching tv and less we forget talking on the phone for hours with family and friends.

Barbara joined Fairview at an early age. She will always be remembered for her humor, personality and a heart full of compassion for those in need. She love her family dearly.

“Barb” as she was called leaves to cherish her memory three loving sisters: Mildred Holloman, Centerville; Cynthia Stuckey, Warner Robins and Vivian Robinson, Warner Robins. Nieces and nephews whom she only wanted the best for them. Cathy Oglesby, Wendy Crooms, Tara Booze, Jackie Coleman, Summer Stuckey, Gramyko Jackson, Chansi Stuckey, Courtney Clark, Grady Coleman, Finily Clark, Marquis Turner, Tyler Baker, Jerry Oglesby and Daryl Crooms. Great nieces: Hayla Turner, Jaleesa Harris and Alex Baker. Great-Great Nephews who were her heartbeat: Makhi Turner, Cathyan Oglesby, Londre Turner and Aiden Stuckey. Friends: Wynchie Fuller, Ellen Rumph, Paula LaVigne, Jill Pleasant, Marie Cook, Ann Grant, Betty Kennedy and Annie Kate Sandifer. Adopted goddaughter: Aniya Hill-Pruitt. Care Takers: Pruitte – Thank you all so much for the love you all showed our family. We will always be thankful and grateful.
