A TIME TO BE BORN Bessie Mae Small was born in Fort Valley, GA to Jim and Bessie Allen on November 18, 1935. One of five children, she was the youngest of two girls.
A TIME TO LOVE Bessie married the love of her life, Robert Lee Small almost seven decades ago. She was a devoted wife, Mother, Auntie, Grandma, and Gigi. She is the mother to Sharon Johnson, Anthany Small and Kimberly Hill.
A TIME TO SERVE Bessie joined Ushers Temple CME Church and served faithfully for many years before becoming ordained and formed the Bible Fellowship Prayer Band which developed into what is now Fellowship Temple of the Living God which she founded in 1989.
A TIME TO WORK Bessie worked in the Houston County Public School System for 28 years.
A TIME TO DIE Bessie transitioned from earth to reward in the early morning of March 26, 2024 peacefully in her home in Warner Robins, GA.
A TIME TO MOURN Bessie leaves to cherish her memory: a loving husband, Robert Lee Small of Warner Robins, Georgia; two devoted daughters, Sharon Johnson Davis (John); Warner Robins, GA; Kimberly Hill (Virgil); Warner Robins, GA; a devoted son, Anthany Small (Denise); Fort Valley, GA; seven grandchildren: Ivan Johnson, Sabastian (Nyla) Walker, Samantha (William) Lamb, Alexis Hill (Oshane) Davis, Courtney Small, Milan Hill, Caitlin Small; six great-grandchildren: Saniya Walker, Navi Johnson, Christian Lamb, Bryson Lamb, Savion Walker, Samir Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church members and friends.
