Betty Jean Smith

Betty "Bet" Jean Smith was born September 24, 1959 in rural Peach County, she suddenly departed this life for eternal life on October 10, 2025 at the Piedmont Hospital in Macon, Ga. following a lengthy.

She was born to the proud Cleveland and Ethel Mae Smith in Peach County, Georgia. Betty "Bet" attended the schools of Peach County, She was a homemaker with a passion for children and love to all that she encountered. Betty was a faithful member of the Deliverance Outreach Church for over fifteen years under the leadership of Bishop Calvin and Pastor Barbara. Betty served on the usher board faithfully and the kitchen committee team until health begun to fail.

She was preceded in death by her parents Cleveland West and Ethel Smith, siblings Jamie Ellison and Rose Ellison, Maternal and Paternal grandparents.

She leave to mourn her passing a son Gabriel Smith Fort Valley, GA and a Godson, Maurice Dennis whom she treated as a son; grandchildren: Chadalyn Smith (Texas), Angel McCowan, Aaleiah Smith, Paris Smith and Briana Smith Fort Valley, GA; son: Rashad Barnes (Atlanta, GA) and Deion Jones of Columbus, GA; great-granddaughter, Arial McCowan, Fort Valley, GA; four sisters: Shirley Talton, Mary A. Smith, Fort Valley, GA; Gloria Ellison and Victoria Baker of Tampa, FL; brother, Horace Lee Smith of Fort Valley, GA and one brother-in-law, Thomas Baker (Tampa, FL) two devoted cousins Connie Smith(Conn) and Kamencia Wright (Mesha) who were like her sisters; a good friend and neighbor, Elaine Rumph.
