Bobby Goodman

Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Bobby Goodman on February 4, 2025.  Our sincere condolences to the family and friends. 

                     A Little Bit of My Story 

I was born November 23, 1945. My mother, Mable, gave birth to six children; my brother Harold was the oldest. He passed away a few years ago, and then shortly after, my mother passed away. Betty and I are twins. My mother had three other children- Benjamin, Annie Pearl, and Lenard.

We had a very good life in my time on this earth. I went to so many places and met so many people as I traveled the world. I wasn’t always a Christian, and I didn’t do everything like the Lord wanted me to do, but I thank God that I gave my life to the Lord, and I got it right some years ago.

Christine and I had five children: Bobby Jr., Larry, who passed away some years ago, Daphne, and Derick. When Derick was born, I thought we were finished, but Dewayne came along. He passed away a few months after his birth. Then later on, along came Dawn. After all of my children were born, eventually I said YES to the Lord. I had to stop running with the devil, and I accepted the Lord as my Savior so that I would have a home where I could spend eternity. I know that we are not supposed to have favorites, but Daphne was always close to my heart-she was my little girl.

A very big thank you to my son-in-law, my sons, and their wives. Thank you for all that you have done for me. I want to thank my grandchildren for being there for me and all of my nieces and nephews who were right there at my bedside praying for me. I want to thank my two brothers and their wives, my two sisters, and my brother-in-law John. Thank you all for being right there.

I have a big thank you in my heart to all of my special cousins and friends; you all spent a lot of time with me. I can’t thank you enough for helping wherever you were needed. I really want to thank the Lord for every one of you that called to check on me, texted, or visited me while I was in the hospital. So many of you prayed for me, and I just want to say thank you! Special thanks to Pastor Daniel Blackshear and all the pastors that came and prayed for me- thank you.

Well, the angels are here for me, and I must go. Please choose the Lord; He is waiting!
