Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Carrie Jones on November 27, 2024. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
Carrie Jones was born on September 24th, 1946 in Soperton, Georgia to the parents of Samuel Walker Sr., and Perry Lee Jackson.
Carrie graduated from Treutlen County Training School in 1966. She later obtained a CNA license to care for others within the community in Treutlen County. She was married to Willie L. Jones Sr. in 1970 for 54 years and to that union four beautiful children were born. Carrie was a proud mother of two boys and two girls.
She served as a homemaker for several years. As her children begin to grow older, she decided to work in the share cropping/farming industry. She served as an active grader with Big Six Farms and Georgia Pecan Farms of Fort Valley, Ga. She was an active member of Harris Chapel C. M.E. Church where she served as a member of the Gospel Choir, Missionary board, Usher board, and lead on several fundraising committees. She later joined Welcome Home Ministries of Fort Valley, GA and served on the Gospel Choir, usher board, and esteemed Mother of the Church. Carrie will be remembered as a God fearing, loving, and kind person who cared for her friends and family deeply.
She is predeceased by her father, Samuel Walker, Sr.; mother, Perry Lee Jackson; siblings: Ruby P. Snipes, Samuel Walker Jr., Lonnie Bell Walker, Annie Mae Troup, Sara Bell, William Oats; sisters-in-law: Helen Walker, Willie Mae Walker; and brother-in-law: Clifford Jones.
Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Carrie Jones completely her earthly journey at Fort Valley Rehab/Nursing Facility in Fort Valley GA.
Saddened with grief but with cherished memories for a lifetime she leaves; her husband, Willie L. Jones, Sr; four loving and devoted children: Willie L. Jones Jr., Napoleon Jones, Wanda Jones & Remisha Jones; two beautiful and loving granddaughters: Briana Jones and Nyla Jones; loving siblings: Benjamin Walker (Phyillis) Matthew Walker, both of Atlanta, GA; David Walker of Millen, GA; Brenda Richards, Kathy Walker, both of Soperton, GA; Edward Walker (Evelyn) of Dublin, GA; committed in-laws: Eugene Jones (Annie Bell), Betty Jones, all of Fort Valley, GA; dedicated and loving aunts: Geneva Jackson and Sylvia Jackson of Chicago, IL; loving uncles; Ronnie Jackson of Orlando, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted family, friends, and members of Welcome Home Ministries.
