Daniel “Jit” Lamar Woodson

Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Daniel “Jit”Woodson. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.

Daniel Lamar Woodson affectionately known as “Jit” was born on March 29, 1968, to the late Ernest and Arlene Gibson Woodson. He was baptized at an early age.

He attended the Peach County School system and worked for many years at Fort Valley State University in plant operations. He was well known in the community for his nice character and ability to keep people laughing. Daniel had a great personality and was loved by all who knew him well.

Daniel departed this life on March 21, 2025, after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Arlene G. Woodson.

He will be sorely missed by his sister, Darlene Woodson, two brothers: Roy Lee Woodson and Ernest Woodson, Jr., an aunt, Ida Mae Gibson Warren; uncles: Lloyd Gibson and Otis Arthur Gibson; cousins: Teresa Gibson, Dianne Victoria Gibson, Lorraine Preston, and Darius Gibson, Shevon and Tory Preston; nephews: Roy M. Woodson, niece, Ashley V. Woodson; special nephew, Kappus Ezell; special niece, Jasmin Ragin, and a host of family and friends.
