Delores Williams Lindsey

A TIME TO BE BORN

Delores Williams Lindsey was born on October 8, 1948, in Miami, Florida, to the union of the late Alonzo Williams Sr. and Lillian Ingram Williams.

A TIME TO GROW

Delores attended Pine Villa Elementary School and graduated from Mays Senior High School in 1966.

A TIME TO WORSHIP

Delores began her Christian journey at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. After moving to Perry, Georgia, she joined East Main Street Church of Christ and became a member of the choir. Known affectionately as the "Singing Songbird," Delores traveled and sang throughout the region, joyfully using her gift to praise the Lord.

Later, Delores moved her membership to Perry Church of Christ, where she faithfully worshiped under the leadership of Brother Stacey Grant until her health no longer permitted her to attend.

A TIME TO EMBRACE

Delores was united in holy matrimony to the late Charles Eugene Lindsey on June 25, 1966. To this blessed union, two loving children were born. Delores devoted her life to her family, who were the center of her world. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring heart will forever be remembered by those blessed to have known her. Delores also embraced and loved her Red Hat sisterhood. She treasured the time they spent traveling, celebrating their friendship, and enjoying life together.

A TIME TO BUILD

Delores and her late husband were the owners of Lindsey Fish Market in Miami, Florida. After moving to Perry, Georgia, they opened C&D Auto Paint and Body Shop. Together, they demonstrated a strong commitment to family, hard work, and entrepreneurship.

A TIME TO WEEP

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo Williams Sr. and Lillian Ingram Williams; her devoted husband, Charles Eugene Lindsey; her sisters, Corrie and Annie Belle; and her brothers, Morris and Alphonso.

A TIME TO DEPART

On Tuesday morning, August 4, 2026, Delores peacefully entered the arms of her Heavenly Father.

A TIME TO MOURN

Delores leaves to cherish her precious memory her two loving children: a devoted daughter, Tonia (Jonathan) of Bonaire, Georgia; and a devoted son, Kevin (JoAnn) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; grandchildren: Nigel (Shanekia) of Warner Robins, Georgia; Anaya of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and Jyrmaine Davis, Portland, Oregon, JoHanna (Raymond) Gilispie, Italy; great-grandchildren: Josiah, Roman, Makayla, and Mercutio; siblings: Alonzo Williams Jr. of Perry, Georgia; Everlena (Jesse) Shumpert, Ellenwood, Georgia; Robert (Beatrice) Williams of Miami, Florida; Carrie Bolton, Phoenix, Arizona; and Belinda (Keith) Edwards, Joyce Gray, and Charlotte McCollum, all of Miami, Florida; brother-in-law, David (Eula) Lindsey, and sister-in-law, Nancy Lindsey, of Fort Valley, Georgia, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted children, extended family members, and dear friends.
