Delores "Lois" Tucker

Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Delores Tucker on June 2, 2024.  Our sincere condolences to the family and friends. 

Delores (Lois) Tucker, born September 15, 1953 in Fort Valley, Georgia, was a God-fearing woman. An amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, daughter and friend. Delores spent her life building her family and teaching them the importance of structure and discipline. She gave love and compassion. She gave herself to everything she did. An amazing cook with an angelic voice, she had a sense of humor that we all could sit and laugh at. Her energy was contagious, and her smile would light up a room. She prayed, she worshipped, she gave for those she loved. Despite some ongoing health issues, she refused to live on the terms that illness wanted to create for her, so in typical fashion, she created her own playing field of how illness would conform to her terms. Delores was a fighter. She will forever be remembered for her love and extension of love to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Annie Laney; sisters: Mary Brown, Doris Campbell, Shirley Turner and Barbara Ann Laney; brothers: Roscoe Laney, Ulysses Laney, Arthur Laney, Jr., Roosevelt Laney, Willie Laney, Oscar Lee Laney and Thomas Laney.

Delores' memory will be forever cherished by her loving husband, Marion Tucker, daughter, Angela Tucker, sons: Marvin Dassau, Jr., Alonzo Tucker, Sr. (Chaka), Alfonzo Tucker, Curtis Tucker; siblings: Joseph Laney (Annie), Maggie McCray, Corinthia Hill, Annie Felts, and a host of adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
