Edna Mae Girdner Hayes

Ms. Edna Mae Girdner Hayes was born on November 27, 1937, in Marshallville, Georgia, to the late Mr. Ed Girdner and Ms. Joyce Girdner.

As a young woman, Edna moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she met her beloved late husband, Willie Hayes. Together, they were blessed with one daughter, Wanda.

Edna was known for her calm and gentle spirit. Her kindness and warmth touched everyone she met, and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her four brothers: Sam Mitchell, Albert Jay Mitchell, Lynn Girdner, and Jimmie Girdner.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Wanda Brinkley of Fort Valley, Georgia; her loving grandson, Jordan Brinkley of Fort Valley, Georgia; four cherished nieces, Yolanda Sanford, Joyce Mitchell-Cutts, Belinda Harris and Debra Harris; one loving nephew, Anthony Harris; her devoted cousin, Bonnie Girdner Sullivan; and a host of loving cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
