Frederick Emerson

With hearts full of love, gratitude, and faith in God’s promises, we celebrate the life and homegoing of Frederick Raymond Emerson, age 86, of Citronelle, Alabama, who entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2026. While he will be deeply missed, we rejoice min knowing that he has gone to receive his heavenly reward and is now resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord.

Born on January 25, 1940, in Citronelle, Alabama, Frederick was the beloved son of Herman and Geraldine Emerson. He lived a life of purpose, guided by faith, wisdom, integrity, and a deep love for his family. He believed in treating others with kindness and respect, standing firm in what was right, and trusting God through every season in life.

Frederick was a man of accomplishments and valued learning, teaching and inspiring others. He worked for 31 years as a teacher for Houston County School before finally retiring. In addition to shaping minds, he engaged spirits as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher for Saint Peter AME Church. Frederick believed that education was one of life’s greatest blessings. He encouraged those around him to grow, strive for excellence, and never stop pursuing knowledge and understanding.

To his family, he was a source of strength, guidance, and unwavering love. He led not only through his words but through the example he set each day. His calm spirit, thoughtful advice, and steady presence created a foundation of love and faith that will continue to bless generations to come.

He shared a beautiful marriage of 59 years with his loving and devoted wife, Geraldine Emerson, and together they built a legacy centered on faith, family and perseverance. He leaves to cherish his memory his three children: LaTanya Emerson (Gerry Smith) of Goodwater, Alabama, Jacques Emerson (Deborah Brown) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and the loving memory of his daughter, Daphne Emerson who preceded him in death (1993).

He was also blessed with 5 grandchildren (Brandon, Jordan, Erin, Raina and Caitlyn); one precious great-granddaughter (Emyrson Reign Williams) along with several nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his love and wisdom.

As the last surviving member of his siblings, Frederick’s longevity in life was a testimony of his resilience, grace, and God’s sustaining power. His legacy will live on through the values he instilled, the love he shared, and the faith he so diligently demonstrated.

Frederick was a man who put God first and family close behind. His life reflected the scripture “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
