Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of George Scott, Sr. on July 2, 2024. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
Mr. George Scott, Sr., age 66 entered this earthly place on December 13, 1958. He was born to the parentage of Mr. Joseph Henry and Mrs. Gertrude Nealy in Fort Valley, (Peach County), Georgia.
George received his education in the public schools of Peach County. George, a native of Fort Valley, joined St. John Baptist Church in Fort Valley at an early age. Later, he moved his membership in order to continue his spiritual guidance by joining the Church of God by Faith in Roberta, Georgia under the leadership of Superintendent Alan Sampson.
He was affectionately called “The Power” by his family and some of his friends. George had a passion for clothes, trucks and cars. He was employed by The Bibb Manufacturing Company for 14 years. After leaving the Bibb Company, he decided to experience what it would feel like to become a professional trucker. Therefore, he obtained a job as a trucker and drove for eight years. In addition to working in manufacturing and trucking, he also did landscaping for quite some time.
On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, early in the morning, while at home sleeping peacefully, God summoned George to come on home to be in the Church Triumphant.
He’s preceded in death by his father, Mr. Joseph Nealy; mother, Mrs. Gertrude Nealy; his grandparents and his son who passed away two weeks ago, Mr. Kimbro Jones.
