Helen Johnson Sanders passed away on January 6, 2026, at Emory Hospital in Warner Robins, Georgia. She was born on October 22, 1939, in Jonesboro, Georgia, and grew up in Fort Valley before eventually settling in Warner Robins.

Helen attended H.A. Hunt High School in Peach County and dedicated many years of her life to a fulfilling career as a healthcare professional until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Sanders; her son, Dwaine K. Sanders; and her grand-daughter, Nartisa N. Sanders.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Cynettie Lester and Reva Sanders; her sons, Dwight Sanders, Donald Sanders, and Carl Sanders; her sisters, Emily Payne, Josephine Johnson, and Juanita Johnson; and her grandchildren: Brittany Sanders, Carl Dejuan Sanders, Devon Sanders, Keith Sanders, Helena Sanders, Antonio Johnson, Demetrius Johnson; great grandchildren: Miyoki-Lei Johnson, D’Audre Johnson, Zuri-Lei Johnson, and Julian Sanders. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
