Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathies the passing of James Marvin Amica, Sr. on June 5, 2025. Our condolences to the family and friends.
James Marvin Amica Sr, a native of Marshallville, GA, was born on May 2, 1953, to the late Fred Amica Sr. and Marion Rumph-Amica. He passed away on June 5, 2025, in Warner Robins, GA, surrounded by family.
James Sr. was a member of Richland Baptist Church. He graduated from Peach County High School and afterwards served in the United States Army for eight years, earning an honorable discharge as a Sergeant.
Following his military service, James Sr. professional career spanned between Armstrong World Industries in Macon, Georgia, and Anchor Glass Container Corporation in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he retired.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Pearl Amica.
James Sr.'s prior union with Dr. Bettye J. Jackson-Amica produced two children: Mareka and James.
James M. Amica Sr. is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Dollie Amica, who was by his side at the end; children: Mareka Amica and James (Kamilah) Amica; his cherished grandchildren: Jalon, Janiah, and Taylor Amica.
He also leaves behind his beloved bonus children: Patricia Mosely, Gennie (Bruce) Wallace, Tamika (James) Stretch, Natalie (Yamen) Chebaro, Nathaniel White III, and Mikala (Logan) Young; siblings: Charles Amica Sr., Bernice (Robert) Dryer, Florence Amica, Horace Amica, Fred (Pat) Amica Jr., Marion Howell, George (Lilla) Amica, and Mary (Kirk) Amica-Huggins; he also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
