Jeffrey Jerome Ezell

Jeffrey Jerome Ezell was born on September 1, 1960 in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late John, Sr. and Luchers Ezell. He was the youngest of 8 children and was affectionately called Jeff and Tater-Head by all who knew him.

Jeff was a 1979 graduate of Peach County High School and later served a brief spill in the United States Army. In high school, Jeff was a skilled baseball player, being the starting pitcher for the Trojans baseball team. He was well known for his skills in baseball and played on community baseball teams throughout Fort Valley Area.

Jeff had a very quiet and humble demeanor. He spent a lot of time alone and loved watching westerns on television. He loved to eat neckbones and salmon croquettes with biscuits and syrup. He said they reminded him always of his mother’s cooking.

Jeff worked had several jobs in the Fort Valley Community. He worked at the Woolfork Chemical Plant, Bibb Company in Fort Valley, and Rack Room Shoes in Byron, Georgia. In his later years, Jeff served as a handy man for his long-time landlord at Belle’s Place in Fort Valley.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Annie Lee Golden, Frances Towns, John W. Ezell, Jr. and Julian Ezell.

Jeff is survived by two children: Shyneteria Ezell and Jeffrey Ezell, and two grandchildren, Christian Flores and Avaya Lawrence, of Warner Robins, Georgia. Three brothers, Leonard Ezell of Macon, Georgia, Phillip Ezell of Jacksonville, Florida, and Rev. Ricky Ray Ezell (Bernice) of Columbia, South Carolina, one sister-in-law, Florine Ezell, one great aunt, Evelyn Robinson, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
