Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Julia M. Cosby on March 3, 2024.  Our condolences to the family and friends. 

Mrs. Julia Ogburn was born January 15, 1949 to the late Mr. Henry Cosby Jr. and Mrs. Ollie Little Cosby in Montezuma GA. She was also preceded in death by four of her siblings Micheal Cosby, Gloria Gilbert, Harvey Cosby and Tommy Lewis Jones.

 

She was educated in the public school system of Macon County GA. Julia was employed with the Flint River Community Hospital of Montezuma GA where she served as a nurse and retired after many dedicated years of service.

 

At an early age, Julia gave her life to Christ and joined the St. John AME Church of Marshallville, GA. Julie Mae was later joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Timothy Ogburn. After marriage, Julia moved her membership to the Harden Chapel Baptist Church of Montezuma GA where she served as and Usher faithfully until her health failed her.

 

On March 3, 2024, Julia transitioned from this earthly life at home to eternal rest surrounded by her family. Although she has left us with a void in our hearts her memories will forever remain in our hearts.

 

Julia Mae leaves to cherish her memories to two wonderful children Mrs. Sharon (William) Oglesby of Marshallville, GA and David (Donna) Cosby Sr. of Locust Grove GA. Siblings: Henry Cosby, Cathy Fields, and Pamela Cosby all of Marshallville GA, Catherine (Curtis) Solomon of Bonaire GA. In-Laws: Sharon Ogburn and Meredith Cosby of Montezuma GA, Patricia Cosby of Perry GA, Otis (Lillie) Ogburn of Macon GA, Carolyn Anderson and Charles Ogburn of Miami FL. Four grandkids: April Cosby of Marshallville GA, Justin (Alix) Cosby of Conyers GA, David (Anna) Cosby Jr. of Rasharon TX, and Shalaya Walden of San Antonio TX. Six great grands. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends. Special friends: Mrs. Earlene Felton, Florence Oglesby, Elladel Postel, Mr. And Mrs. Herman (Betty) Woodruff, Haddie Johnson and Elizabeth Allen. Also devoted Doctors and Caregivers: Dr. Quincy Jordon and Dr. Cynthia Giles.
