Celebrating the Life of Kim "Brick Chick" Jones
From the Heavenly Kitchen of Kim "Brick Chick" Jones affectionately known as the beloved "Mayor of Vineville" —comes this timeless recipe for a remarkable life, bringing family, friends, and communities lovingly together. The ingredients are outlined as follows:
Strong Foundation of Family & Faith: Born July 7, 1965, in Fort Valley, Georgia, to the late Alice Mosley and Billy Jones, Kim was lovingly reared by her devoted grandmothers, Eva Kate Gibson and Mary Jones.
Measure of Determination & Education: A proud graduate of Peach County High School, Kim was a member of the Class of 1983.
Love and Partnership: In 1989, Kim married the love of her life, Isaac Mitchell Jr. Together, they built a legacy of love until his passing.
Hearty Portion of Community Leadership: Kim's leadership, dedication, and tireless advocacy for community improvement earned her the title, the "Mayor of Vineville," a name she wore with pride. As the instrumental founding co-president of the Vineville Improvement Community Action Association (VICAA), she played a pivotal role in fostering positive change in her neighborhood. She was also a faithful member and missionary at The Mount Olive CME Church.
Generous Cups of Hospitality & Culinary Artistry: Kim's culinary talents were a gift that brought warmth, joy and unity. Her meals were more than food -- they were a ministry of love that bridged divides and built lasting bonds.
Abundant Style & Grace: Affectionately known as "Brick Chick," Kim's vibrant personality radiated through her bold hairstyles, stylish fashion, and radiant makeup. Her unmistakable flair left a lasting impression, bringing light wherever she went.
Endless Love for Family: Kim was a devoted mother to Keysha Knowlton, Bilan Jones, Quentin Mitchell, Xavier Jones (Abry), Sabrina Mitchell, and Damion Jones (Lay Lay). She was a cherished grandmother to Kaliyah Jones, Tayla Jones, Savannah Mitchell, and Isabel Jones. She was a treasured sister to Fredrick Gibson (Linda), Keathea Ballard, Jerry Mosley (Holly), Kerry Mosley, and Rhonda Tabor (Marcus), and a deeply loved niece to her special aunt, Dianne Brown. Kim was also a devoted aunt to Kandis Gibson and a loving cousin to India Howard and Sherika Gibson, whom she embraced as nieces.
Additionally, Kim served as a counselor, connector, and comforter to those around her, always offering a mother's touch, a listening ear, and a place at her table. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
Kim was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Mitchell Jr.; her parents, Alice Mosley and Billy Jones; and her grandparents, Eva Kate Gibson, Charlie Gibson Sr., and Mary Jones.
