Lavern "Sally" Thorpe

It is with our deepest sympathy that Edwards Small Mortuary announces the passing of Lavern Thorpe on Friday, October 6th.   Our condolences to the family and friends.

Lavern (Sally) Thorpe passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at her home surrounded by her children. Lavern was born  July 18, 1956 in Crawford County, to the late Leon Clark, Sr. and Ruby Hicks Clark.

Laverne was a member of the Springhill Community Church of the Living God in Byron, Georgia.

She was raised in Crawford County and attended public schools.

Laverne loved flowers and decorating their home. She loved spending time with her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Leon Clark, Sr. and Ruby Hicks Clark; sisters: Carolyn Cliett and Brenda Clark Howard.

She is survived by: daughter, Sonja D. Thorpe and son, Fabian Thorpe. She also leaves to cherish her memories; sisters: Emma Causey, Thelma (Andrew) Edwards, Alice (Benjamin) Tolbert; Linda (Frank) Tallart; brothers: Homer  (Ann) Walker,  Johnny (Linda) Clark, Leon (Jackie) Clark, Fletcher (Rosa) Clark; special cousin; Joyce Baute; Veronica Carrasco (loved her like a daughter); Jerik Miles Guzman; Cristal Grano and Gael Grano (loved as her own grandchildren); along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
