Michelle Evette McKenzie

Michelle Evette McKenzie was born on October 13, 1971, in Fort Valley, Georgia, to the late Dorothy McKenzie and Major McKenzie. She was a proud graduate of Peach County High School, Class of 1990. Michelle was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose love and presence touched many lives.

She furthered her education by attending Central Georgia Technical College, where she pursued a degree in Medical Billing and Coding. On Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the age of 54, Michelle peacefully answered God’s call and embarked upon her final journey.

At the age of three, Michelle was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia, a battle she carried throughout her life with remarkable grace and resilience. Although her illness brought many aches and pains, Michelle never allowed it to define her or limit her determination. She was a hardworking and dedicated employee, serving faithfully at Walgreens, Maffett’s, Chick-fil-A, and Target.

Despite the challenges of her diagnosis, one would never know the extent of her struggle by the way she lived and worked each day. Michelle faced life with quiet strength, perseverance, and dignity, inspiring all who knew her through her unwavering spirit and commitment to providing for herself and her family.

Michelle found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, Morgan and Kaiden, whom she absolutely adored. Whether she was laughing, sharing stories, or simply enjoying their presence, her love for them was undeniable. She also cherished time with her closest friends, enjoyed watching crime shows, and could often be found scrolling TikTok, always staying connected to the world around her.

Above all else, Michelle’s heart belonged to her only son, Christopher. She loved him fiercely and unconditionally, always placing his happiness and well-being above her own. Her pride in him was evident in every conversation, and her devotion never wavered.

Michelle was preceded in death by her loving mother, Dorothy McKenzie; her grandmothers, Hattie Mae McKenzie and Mary Frances Banks; and her grandfathers, T.R. McKenzie and Izell Banks.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Christopher McKenzie (Kendra) of Warner Robins, Georgia; her grandchildren, Morgan McKenzie and Kaiden McKenzie, of Warner Robins, Georgia. She is also survived by her father, Major McKenzie, of Fort Valley, Georgia; her sister, Lisa Miller (Richard), of Fort Valley, Georgia; her dedicated niece, Camesha Carswell (Kyle), of Fort Valley, Georgia; her dedicated nephew, Cameron McKenzie, of Fort Valley, Georgia; her close and loving cousin, Sherell Maddox, of Fort Valley, Georgia; and her close friends, Kima Elliot and Inez Harris, of Fort Valley, Georgia. Michelle also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Michelle’s life was a testament to strength, love, and perseverance, and her legacy will live on through all who were blessed to know and love her.
