Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Ruth Mae Miller on August 16, 2024. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
Ruth Mae Miller, a native of Perry, Georgia was born on March 29, 1937 in to the late Little Ran “Doc” Miller and Lula Bell Miller. Although she was born in Perry, Georgia, she became a resident of Fort Valley, Georgia where she lived most of her life.
Ruth Mae’s earthly journey was completed on August 16, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her father, Little Ran (Doc) Miller, mother, Lula Bell Miller; brothers: Elijah Miller and Ray Miller; sons: James Miller, Jr. and Tommy Baker and grandson, Juno Barrow.
Ruth Mae’s chosen occupation was serving as a chef/cook in various restaurants in the Fort Valley area. Not only did she enjoy serving as a chef/cook, she also enjoyed serving the Lord. She was a faithful member of W. J. Johnson Memorial CME Church in Byron, Georgia. When she wasn’t serving others with her delicious cuisine or serving at her church, she spent her leisure time doing Word Search Puzzles or Reading.
She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved children, daughters: Merry Lee Miller-Williams and Agnes Brown; sons: Larry Miller and Ronnie Baker (Sandra President-Baker) and Thomas Baker, Jr; all of Fort Valley, GA; grandchildren: James Miller III, Darryl Miller, LaQuanda Barrow, all of Miami, FL; Larry Jolly, Barbra M. Jolly, both of Fort Valley, GA; Leroy Williams, Jr., Fort Valley, GA; Karmitta L. Williams, Jacksonville, FL; Denzell J. Williams, Tampa, FL; Ronnie Baker, Jr., Kimberley Hadley, and Takwanya A. President, all of Fort Valley, GA. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, sorrowing friends and neighbors.
