Stephanie McGhee

Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathy the passing of Stephanie McGhee.  Our condolences to the friends and family.

Stephanie McGhee, a beautiful baby girl, was born on May 11, 1958 to loving parents, Dorothy McGhee and the late Willie J. McGhee in Marshallville, Georgia. Stephanie was raised in a loving home along with her sister and brothers.

She attended the public schools in Macon County, Georgia and graduated in 1976 from Macon County High School.

Stephanie loved hanging out with her siblings and family. She enjoyed dancing at family gatherings and other social events. Her smile would light up a room and as she worked her way through the room, she spoke to everyone. She was an overall good person until you made her angry. Her favorite holiday was HER Birthday (lol) followed by Christmas.

She was employed at Bibb/Dan River Textile Company for more than 20 years, she also worked at Kiddie Korner and ended her career after having worked at worked Fort Valley State University after 9 years of service.

She was a faithful member of Saint Louis C.M.E where she served as president of the Usher Board for many years.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her sister, Karen McGhee and brothers, Eric McGhee and Leon Miller.

Mourning her loss; yet rejoicing in her purposeful life are her survivors: one daughter, Tatanisha McGhee of Fort Valley, GA; two sons: Robert L. Buckner, Jr. of Marshallville, GA and Alvarez D. Mitchell of Fort Valley, GA; one stepson, Carlos D. Mitchell of Perry, GA; one sister, Roslyn Howard (Thomas) of Macon, GA; three brothers: Clisby McGhee (Iris) of Warner, Robins GA , Raymond Wallace(Lavorn) of Warner Robins, GA and Reginald McGhee of Fort Valley, GA; six granddaughters: Kennedi McGhee, Ayarnna Coates, Kenley Howard, Emory McGhee, Cylie Buckner, and Bailee Troutman; three grandsons: Tyrese A.
