Tommy James Rumph, Sr.

Tommy James Rumph, Sr, was born on June 7, 1960, in Augusta, Georgia. He later made Byron, Georgia his home, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and friendship. He was educated in the Peach County School system.

Following school, he was known for his strong work ethic and spent many years working as a welder, a profession that reflected his dedication and skilled craftsmanship.

Tommy enjoyed life's simple pleasures, and anyone who knew him knew that he loved playing dominoes. Whether surrounded by family or friends, he could always be found sharing laughter, stories, and friendly competition around the domino table. His easygoing spirit and warm personality made him someone people genuinely enjoyed being around.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Willene Rumph; father, Tommy Kerce; and grandmother, Clara T. Rumph.

Tommy leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife, Tammy Rumph; one daughter, Crystal Rumph; five sons: Trevor Rumph, Tommy James Rumph, Jr., Christopher Rumph, Tommy Rumph III and Purnell Postell; one sister, Wendy Harris; two brothers: Curtis Harris and Gregory Smith; 20 beautiful grandchildren: sisters-in-law: Rageena Dean and Stacy Dean; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many devoted friends whose lives were enriched by his love and friendship.

Though he has departed from this earthly life, Tommy's legacy of love, strength, and quiet kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
