Edwards Small Mortuary announces with our deepest sympathies the passing of Willie Louis Marshall. Our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
Willie L. “Will” Marshall, 77, peacefully transitioned this earthly life to rest in the arms of the Savior on August 23rd, 2025.
Will was born in Peach County, Ga. on February 16,1948 to the late Washington Marshall Sr. and Flora Bell Johnson Marshall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 12 brothers and 1 sister.
He graduated from H.A. Hunt High School in 1966. He was a proud veteran, who honorably served his country in the United States Army. In his life he faced and overcame some challenges. His story is one of redemption, strength, and faith. He wasn’t what one would call a religious man, but he believed in God and knew how to call on him. In his later years, he became a man of peace and deep conviction – an example of the power of transformation and God’s grace. He was a man who didn’t remain a stranger. Will was outgoing and knew how to fit in and make friends. He was fun, loving and enjoyed many hours of pleasure riding his bike with bike clubs and at the time of transition was a member of the Low Riders Bike Club.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a strongly committed wife Dorothy Williams of Greenville, NC. Five children: Brian (Jolynn) of Kingston, NY, Melanie of Bonaire, GA., Jeffrey of Greenville, NC., Nickie (Renaldo) of Byron, GA., and Nina (Trenton) of Bonaire, GA; long-time special friend, Gayle Wilson; seventeen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Washington Marshall Jr. and Mary Green both of Fort Valley, GA; four sisters-in-law: Annie Marshall of Byron, GA., Doris Marshall and Shirley Marshall-Ragin both of Fort Valley, GA., Carolyn Marshall of Fort Valley, GA and Melvina Marshall; a special niece, Lenie McGowan of Foley, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will forever remember his love, his laughter, and his legacy.
