Zorah “Zo” Mattie Bigham

Zorah “Zo” Mattie Bigham, was born on May 19, 2005, and departed this earthly life on May 26, 2026. Though her time with us was far too brief, the impact of her life will forever be felt by all who knew and loved her.

Zorah was a bright, compassionate, and determined young woman whose love for life was evident in everything she did. A dedicated student, she was a Senior Biology major at Wesleyan College, where she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. Her passion for animals, nature, and helping others reflected the kindness and care that defined her character.

During her time at Wesleyan College, Zorah was actively involved in campus life as a member of the Nature Club, the Black Student Alliance, and the CEO Institute. She embraced every opportunity to learn, lead, and make meaningful connections with those around her.

A proud graduate of Mary Persons High School, Zorah excelled both academically and athletically. She was a member of the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team and the Track and Field Team. One of her proudest accomplishments was advancing to the state competition as a member of the 4x100 relay team during her senior year.

Known affectionately as “Zo,” she possessed a warm spirit, a contagious smile, and a sense of humor that could brighten any room. She loved the outdoors and cherished spending time with family and friends. Children were naturally drawn to her gentle and playful nature, and she could often be found laughing, playing, and creating joyful memories with them for hours on end.

Zorah leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving parents: Randall and Kimberly Bigham; her beloved twin sister, Niah Bigham of Lizella, Georgia; her siblings: Nahshon Bigham of Alexandria, Virginia; NyAnna Miller, Esq. of New Orleans, Louisiana; Dr. Zahna Bigham-Bunn (Dr. David) of Queens, New York;; and Joshua Bigham of Lizella, Georgia; grandmother, Vera Jackson, Fort Valley, Georgia.

She is also survived by her aunts, Kyle (Deon) McGhee of McDonough, Georgia, and Phyllis James of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Kevia Jackson. Her cherished uncles include Reginald (Beverly) Bigham of Johns Creek, Georgia, Kalen Jackson of Clearwater, Florida, Michael (Janice) Johnson of Forest Heights, Maryland, and Jeffery Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska.

Zorah also leaves behind a host of devoted cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles, extended family members, classmates, teammates, professors, and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.

While our hearts grieve her passing, we find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her compassion, determination, laughter, and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

“Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they shared, the love they gave, and the memories we hold forever in our hearts.”
